Cancelled purchase

So. I have listed an item and on two occasions the buyers have not paid. In the first instance, no explanation was given and on the second, the buyer cancelled. The second buyer said that this will happen many times because I don’t have enough positive feedback as a new seller. I have sold one item (£450 coffee machine) and received excellent feedback. It seems that I am unable to leave negative feedback to buyers messing me around but, as a new seller, I am at the mercy of their whims. The second buyer was especially obnoxious basically saying that this was going to happen because I was a new seller. There is a distinct bias here where sellers (especially new ones) are being undermined by more established eBay users. I did ask the buyer why he deliberately put in a winning bid at the n’th hour and then retract it basically compelling me to re-list due to his idiotic behaviour. I would welcome some feedback from eBay veterans on this issue. Many thanks.

Cancelled purchase

This is ebay.com, the USA site.

You are located in the UK.

You need to return to your home site: https://www.ebay.co.uk

There is currently a glitch when you search, bringing you over here.

In the future, use the SHOP BY CATEGORY on the left side of the screen, or type in your KEYWORDS and then use the SEARCH on the right side.

If the buyer has not paid by day 4, on day 5 the seller can file a Cancellation with the reason Buyer didn't pay. The seller gets his/her FVF credited, the buyer gets an unpaid strike recorded on his account, no one can leave feedback. Two or more unpaid strikes, and the buyer will find it difficult to bid/buy from sellers who block buyers with 2 or more unpaid strikes. Do you have your Buyer Blocks in place?

I agree with you about the second buyer.  Why place a bid if s/he had no intention of paying?  Sellers have not been able to leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers since 2008.  Suggest you list as fixed price with Immediate Payment Required, no best offers.  That way, the listing stays active until it is paid for.
