Cancelled a Sale and Infuriated a Buyer

Hi,

I buyer told me that she did not want the merchandise and we agreed that was fine; however, she had suggested that I do nothing and the item would drop from the pending sale list after three weeks, but I was in house-cleaning mode this week and cancelled due to non-payment. The buyer was furious. How should I respond?

The buyer was wrong to suggest you "do nothing". Had you not cancelled, you would have been charged a final value fee for a failed sale and a demerit for no tracking.

You would have had two options to cancel, either "buyer requested" or "non-payment".  For a "buyer requested" cancellation, the buyer should send you a formal cancellation request through eBay's menu options. Alternatively, using messages as backup, the seller can cancel due to a buyer request in messages.

Instructions for buyers.

I think you should immediately copy her username and paste it in to your Blocked Buyer List, before she has the idea of getting even with you by buying something else and (1) giving you negative feedback, and (2) opening a fraudulent not as described and returning a rock.  https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock
