Hi,
I have an account for a while and I used it only to buy a few things from ebay. My girlfriend bought me a watch yesterday as a present, but what she didn't know that I already bought myself one. So I was wondering can I sell it through ebay? I tried to do so, but it says I have a 500$ selling limit (as I haven't sold anything yet). Now my watch is a Swiss automatic chronograph with ETA 7750 Valjoux and brand new so basically it costs more than 500$. I'm not a shop or something. Just wanted to get rid of my extra watch...
I don't know if that matters but my account is created in the US ebay website (as per customer service UK) when I lived there for a while, then I moved to Europe and would like to post my selling offer in the UK ebay or German because of the easier postage.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
You are a new seller and have selling limits. If your limit is $500, then you can not start an auction etc at over $500. If you listed it at $400 starting bid and it went over $500, eBay would allow the sale, but I would not receommend starting the item for less than you want for the watch in case you only get one bid. So, sell less expensive things, get your feet wet, and sell the watch later when you limits are higher.
Do not start the bidding at less than what you want for the watch because it is very possible you may get only one bid and would have to sell at that low price.
