Can someone tell me how to contact a real person who works for eBay?

I need to speak to a real eBay employee, not a computer. Does someone have a phone number and or email?

@oldoilerfan    We can help with most buying and selling questions and save you time, we are experienced eBay Mentors who know eBay's policies and procedures.    If you ask us your question we'd be happy to help you.

Or if you prefer>

Here's how to contact eBay customer service:

eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.

1. CLICK THIS LINK: https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4191&st=10

2. Click Automated chat on the left hand side of the screen.    ( Trust me)

3. Type AGENT in the small box on the lower right of the linked page then you will see the options to contact a live agent, you may have to answer the chat bots questions before it allows you to connect to an agent, this is so you are connected to the correct department.     If  the bot asks another question after you answered type AGENT  again.  Then you will see the option to request a call back or live chat.

If you are located outside of US or Canada then you will need to use the Chat option or Social Media

4. Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.

Can someone tell me how to contact a real person who works for eBay?

I have an item that shows through tracking that it was delivered to eBay Authentication on 12/26/23. How do I find out what the status is? Why it’s talking so long when the item was already authenticated by Upper Deck. I also want to complain to someone about why I am being forced to have an item authenticated when it already is. Such as graded sports or non sports cards. This process slows down shipping and creates more of an opportunity for sold items to be lost since they are being diverted unnecessarily. Thanks.

@oldoilerfan

The authentication centers were very backed up over the holidays and they are probably still playing catch up.   It typically takes about 5 to 7 business days.

eBay requires graded items to be Authenticated too because unfortunately there are actually counterfeit authentications.

Select contact us at the bottom of this page>

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/selling-tools/ebay-authenticity-guarantee?id=4644&st=

Type this in the chat bot box on the lower right>

Authenticity is taking too long

Next type AGENT.  It will say do you need help with eBay Authenticity Guarantee.
Click YES...

Next  type agent again.   Then you should see the option to request a call back or chat.

I don't know that the agent will really be able to help track the item down or not though.

Thanks for the input. Very frustrated by this process. I don’t agree with their policy. An authenticity guarantee should be offered as optional, not forced on sellers. Time to get away from eBay. Thank you again.

@oldoilerfan  One way to look at the Authencity Guarantee program is that it protects sellers too.   If buyer files a not as described refund request the item goes back to the Authenticity center before returning to the seller.  This prevents bad buyers from switching out items and sending back junk.

eBay's Money Back Guarantee over rules sellers no returns policies.  Sellers return policies are for remorse returns only... changed mind, wrong size etc.

If you sell on another site you will still be subject to charge backs etc... without the Authencity protection.

I understand what you are saying and appreciate your input. But, I’ve been a sports and non-sports card collector since 1989, so I’m very familiar with the card industry. I only sell items to thin out my collectibles. My concern is that if I sell a high end item, that’s already authenticated, the shipping process is being slowed down considerably and worst of all, that high end item may not ever reach its intended destination due to being lost in the black hole, so to speak. Who’s on the hook for that monetary loss?
It’s one more out of the way stop perhaps clear across the country for a perhaps well intended, but flawed reason. An Authenticity Guarantee should be an option, a request by the buyer and agreed to by the seller, not required to sell an item that is already slabbed and graded by SGC, BVG, PSA, or CSG. The verification numbers are on these slabs and easy to run through their website to verify, which is probably all the eBay verifiers are doing. Again, I appreciate the response. I did try to speak with someone, but didn’t have any luck.
