Buying a car

I answered an add today about purchasing a vehicle. The seller said they’re out of town and eBay Motors is handling the transaction for her. She said eBay would call me tomorrow to arrange shipment of the vehicle and send me the invoice. 

Is this SOP for eBay?

ebay has nothing to do with motor vehicles found on another website.  ebay does not have a warehouse, does not ship to you for free to inspect and then ship it back if you don't like it. ebay does not accept ebay gift cards in payment for a motor vehicle.

If you don't find the motor vehicle listed ON ebay, with a 12 digit item number, that you either bid on or use the BUY IT NOW, the transaction is a SCAM.  Stop communicating with the scammer.  Report that "listing" to the website it is listed on.
