Buyers buying, but don't pay.

We are new at Ebay selling and we've already had 3 or 4 people click to buy our items, but that's all they do. And then there are some that click buy, then they send a private message asking to text them to answer some questions. I tell them I want to answer their questions via the Ebay messaging, then they never answer me back. And in turn, of course placing our item on hold for several day.  That's frustrating since Ebay says we can't relist that item for many days after that happens. Has anyone else had that problem?

Yes, it happens to all new sellers - those 'buyers' are scammers.

Any time someone

- offers more than your asking price
- asks you to text or call them
- asks for your paypal address
- asks for overnight shipping
- asks you to include a gift card

it is the start of a scam.

Not running auctions, and not using best offer are 2 ways to avoid them.  With a fixed price listing without best offer, the item is not sold until the buyer pays.

The scammers will leave you alone once you have more experience.
