Buyer is asking me to cancel order. Can I agree to that without hurting myself as a seller? There always seem to be hidden consequences to simple decisions so I thought I’d ask first. I don’t even know if I can initiate that…

Yes, you can file a cancellation and select Buyer request.  That will not affect your account negatively.
