Buyer using a mover to pickup, when to scan the QR code?

I sold a local pickup item,  the buyer is at a different state.  She hired a moving company to pickup the item.  I believe I should scan the pickup code on pickup.  But the mover said on delivery.  How do I know the mover even legit?

You should scan or enter the code when the item is picked up. The code is to verify pickup.  The buyer is responsible for the item once their agent takes possession of the item.
