Buyer's address is vacant according to the USPS

Hello,

Sold a lens and payment via PayPal, bought a label/postage thru eBay, packaged and mailed the item. USPS scans say "vacant."  This tells me the address has been vacant for a while or the person there notified the USPS the address is vacant.  I contacted the buyer (0 feedback on a weird user name) and they were not concerned.

My concern is why would someone use a vacant address.  I have been paid and did my part.  Is this some sort of scam?

Thanks,

Gary

@chaps_high_speed  If the package is returned to you then you only need to refund the item price, not any of the shipping.       OR the buyer can make arrangements to pay you to ship the item again, payment for second shipping would have to be done with Venmo or other electronic payment method.

Your job is done for delivery confirmation as long as you shipped to the address provided at checkout.

Thank you.  I did use the address provided by the system thru purchasing the label via eBay.  No changes were made nor given an opportunity to do so.
