I have been contacted by a buyer who claims not to have received an item I shipped in December. She wants a refund. I don't know what to do since eBay doesn't keep information available to sellers for EIGHT MONTHS. The item was insured but I have no way of getting the tracking number now. I would have thought a buyer would have to indicate item not received a lot sooner than 8 months later! She has provided me with the item number but from what I can find in the help section this does me no good.

@therealmink Deny the refund. You can say sorry but it's too late to receive a refund as the eBay buyer protection is 30 days from the last estimated delivery date, but you would have been willing to work with them a bit longer if they had asked before the insurance claim time ran out.
They are also too late to file a not received case with PayPal or a bank or credit card.

That's 240 days. I don't think they can successfully file to get their money refunded.
There's limits to how long after the Transaction's Estimated Delivery Date a buyer can file for an Item Not Recieved claim.
