Buyer Paid. Wants to change Ship to Pickup. HOW? Is CANCEL the only way?

The Buyer Paid for this item 20 hrs ago.
Now he Wants to change his item from Shipping to Pickup. HOW can he do it?
Is selecting "CANCEL Order" the only way?
Does Cancelling an Order reflect Badly on my SALE History or in any way?

After I CANCEL, How can I be sure he buys it right away at his Bid Price?
Do I end the Sale Listing early after putting $18 for the MINIMUM Price for his  $18 Bid and a much larger (like $150) for Buy it Now - or just do NOT Choose BuyItNow?
I searched eBay HELP and do not find this topic. Thanks, RR

You will need the "Local Pickup" option attached to your listing so that the buyer can bring you the QR code for your proof-of-delivery protection. Otherwise, you could just refund the buyer when it is picked up by discounting the shipping on the eBay sale, and then mark the item as shipped. However, there won't be any tracking to protect you.

Work with the buyer. If you cancel and relist because the buyer requested, you can relist as Fixed Price (no auction) and choose local pickup only. The buyer can then repurchase, and should receive a QR code in an eBay email. The buyer will bring that when picking up the item. You, the seller, can only process a QR code of you are using eBay's mobile app. Entering the QR code into the app confirms your have delivered the item, just like a tracking number confirms delivery.

If you don't have the app, or if the buyer can't find the QR code, or if you choose to complete the current sale without a code, then print a copy of the invoice. Have the buyer sign and date it to show they received that item. Keep that receipt with your records. You may want to see a driver license if the item is pricey.

If you plan to discount the shipping after the buyer arrives, then print out that new invoice for signature.

Other ways to prove an item was delivered is for the buyer to give positive feedback or to send an eBay message acknowledging the pickup was successful.

Thanks. Good advice all around. Like the signed Invoice receipt idea, but I don't see any way to Print an Invoice.

Where is that option please?

I only see how to print the Packing Slip (below snip).  I DID have Pickup as an Option on original Order, but since the buyer chose SHIP and Paid 20 hrs ago, I cannot change the SHIP option it seems. That would be easiest. Seems like eBay should add that flexibility at Ship time. Thanks for your Help!  RR

The packing list will suffice for gathering a signature.

We do see one of these questions every few days where the buyer chose shipping, and then decided to pick up instead. Since the buyer is the one who makes the decision, the seller can not override.

Thanks. I understand the Buyer chose SHIP, BUT
Since you see these Qs a lot, perhaps eBay will consider adding a Option to Send back to Buyer to Change their SHIPPING method?

Should I mark the Listing as SHIPPED while I wait for the Buyer to come to Pickup?

If the BUYER does not show for days or Weeks, will the shipment Delay affect my stats and ratings?

Thanks, Ron

That would not be a true statement. You do bring up a valid issue of handling-time metrics. I would suggest that if the buyer can not collect right away that you go with the cancel and relist. Of course, you could also simply ship the item, but your buyer may not consider that to be good customer service.
