I recently bought/paid for a nightstand with 3 drawers and charging station. After payment, I was contacted by the seller stating the following:
“Dear customer, thank you for your support to our store.
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. The warehouse just contacted us and said that the latest styles in the warehouse are shown in the attached picture. I hope you will like it.
Please help and trouble to tell us, do we need to keep sending you new styles?
At the same time, I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

The item is smaller, shorter and cheaper. I’ve replied that I do not want the suggested item and would like a refund before it is shipped (still has not shipped), to no avail. Do I have any recourse? I have tightly budgeted for this piece and would like my money back so that I can purchase exactly what I wanted. Has anyone had any luck with receiving a refund before a knowingly different item would be shipped, and/or can EBay customer service intervene?

The seller will have to file a cancellation and refund your payment since they do not have the item to ship and you do not want a replacement.
