If you are buying a book the vendor should give an accurate, detailed description. Not saying a book may have writing, notes, underlining, etc. Especially if you are paying a high price.

All sellers should provide accurate, detailed descriptions, but not all sellers do so.

You can certainly choose to do business only with sellers that provide descriptions that meet your standards.
