Bidder's names display

Why is my name fully displayed on the bid history list?

When other bidders names are not shown completely?

How do I change that?

Bidder's names display

eBay obscures the usernames of all bidders for privacy reasons.

When you are signed in to your own account, eBay does not hide your username from you.

Sign out of your account and then view your bid history page to see what other users see.

Every bid by every bidder on every listing is hidden in the same manner as all the other bids on that particular listing (a***b type alias, "Private listing--bidderS' identitIES protected" or a translation of the latter).  You see your own ID in full only because YOU are the one looking; log out and navigate back to a refreshed Bid History Page and you'll see your ID alias.  Only you and the seller (and I assume at least some eBay employees under at least some circumstances) can see your full ID.

Thank you. Your response was caught in earthlinks's "suspect" file. In truth when thinking about my question, I realized that Ebay was probably leaving my name visible...because I was the one seeking the information.
