This question seems obvious but I can't find an answer anywhere on EBAY.
Say I have a Basic Store (I do) - 250 free listings. I fill my store in February with 250 items. Say I sell nothing. Now it's March - I still have 250 in my store - can I add an additional 250 for March? Then I would have 500 items in my store. I sell nothing and now it's April - can I add 250 more for a total of 750 items?
OR - With a Basic Store am I only allowed to have 250 items period. I.E. if I sell ten of my 250 items I'm then only allowed to replace the sold items - never going above 250 items?
Please help - this should be easy!

There are 2 things to consider. One is how many free insertions you receive each month. The basic store includes 250 auctions plus 1,000 fixed price insertions. There are up to 10,000 more to use in specific categories.
The second issue is how many items you personally are allowed to list. Every seller has limits - both number of items and $ limit. On your seller home page you should see 2 boxes. One has your personal limit, and it will show you used and available. The second box called ‘promotional offers’ shows how many of your store insertions have been used and are available.
So let’s say you had a sky personal limit of 20,000 items. With a basic store, selling in sports cards, you could have 11,000 insertions free each month. Each item counts each month - the items you list in March that do not sell, count again in April, May, etc. You could still list more items, but you would pay an insertion fee for each.
More likely, your personal limit will be something like 300, 500 or 1,000 items.
See the chart on this page - zero insertion fees - and then see the list below the chart for where you can use the 10,000 extra insertions.

If you list 250 in February and don't sell anything, those 250 will roll over in March, so no, you won't be able to list anything in March.
If you sell 25 in February, then in March, you'll be able to list 25.

That made me more confused.
99752 items remaining in March
18 sold and 230 active
or
$995,894.44 remaining in March
$285.43 sold and $3,820.13 active
Are those the numbers you are talking about?

Pretend I'm an idiot - are you sure that I can only ever have 250 items in my store?
why is it telling me that I have 140 or so free listings remaining for March - If I put in the 140 items I'm way over 250 items ???

Yes. You have an amazing limit! 99752+ 18+ 230 = 100,000 items.
So your personal limit will not be an issue for quite a while 🙂
Are you sure you have a basic store? If you have 140 available, that sounds like a starter store.
Listing all fixed price in a basic store, you should have most of your first 1,000 available, plus all of the 10,000 extra available.
Go to account settings >> subscriptions to view your store subscription. Or even easier, how much do you pay each month for your store?
