I am purchasing several listings from one seller in order to get combined shipping. Now when each auction ends eBay is automatically making payment. I can't do this . 6 listings with a $8 or $9 shipping costs plus costs of 6 items. Shipping costs alone will be $54.00 taken out of my bank account. This the first this autopay has happened to me. I can't find a way to change settings. If this is going to be the way I will no shop on eBay. Please help!

Auto-pay is a setting on Seller accounts, nothing Buyers can do to change how a Seller has it set up for Offers or Auctions. Some Sellers don't even know its ON (eBay's default when they add it to Selling accounts).
Some Sellers don't even know it has been added to their account because eBay does not tell them. I found out they added it to mine when a Buyer sent me a nasty graham saying they would not bid on my items by providing a payment method prior to bidding. I thanked them and explained how it worked and how poorly it was implemented by Home Office.
You can message Sellers and ask them 1) if they know it is on their account and 2) would they consider turning it off so you could place multiple bids and then request an updated invoice once all auctions items you win are finished. Outside of that you can't do much, sorry to say.
You can request a callback from eBay and complain to them too if you want to take the time to do that: eBay Customer Service
Personally, even though I do not have it turned ON I think it is a good feature for new Sellers and high value high risk items for sale on the site. However, it was poorly implemented and has like zero flexibility. I could see it as a PER listing setting so Sellers could decide what items they want to have it turned ON for to cut down on scammers, unpaid items, etc.
