How do I add personalize to my listing so that the buyer can let me know what personalization they want added to the item they want to purchase? Is there a special link or something that I need to add to the listing?

The first thing you want to do is make sure you list in Specialty Services>Artistic Services>Other Artistic Services
This way the buyer can not file an item not as described refund request when you ship a personalized item.
Then you put a note in the listing stating you will contact the buyer after purchase to find out what personalization they would like,
You can change your listings category if needed in bulk edit:
How to use bulk edit:
1. Go to this active listings page : https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
2. Put a checkmark next to all items.
3. Select edit from the top of the list
4. Select all items again
5. Select edit fields on the upper left>categories> edit and submit
Then after you save and submit that go back to bulk edit again and select Item description for the field you want to update and add your note about how you will contact the buyer after sale for the personalization information. This will be added to your existing description.

No good - I have tried to do what you say, but there is no box for the buyer to put in what they want as a personalization of the item they want personalized.
The personalization function is not working at all for my listings.

@comics-scifi-collectibles Supposedly ebay has a new option to do this on the UK site, or at least they announced it back in May. Any word whether it works and will be coming to the USA site?

@creations_by_esther I know that there is not a box for the personalization feature in the category that I recommended using but you CAN add a note in the your description section to all listings using bulk edit.
I recommended that category because buyers can not return the personalized items using the eBay MBG.

@rfmtm Another seller @bmullins2 ( who can't post on this board) just posted that the option is available in some categories in the limitless peer group. I have an appt in a bit and will checkback with more info in a few hours.

I have tried what you show here. It does not work. Even the customer service agent could not get it to work. He had to send my concern over to the technical dept. They got it to work for that one listing, but I have other listings that the personalize option is not working. At least 3 or 4 more of my listings need tech support.
I guess I will have to contact customer service for each of the listings that need attention. What a pain.
Ebay should allow the seller to contact tech support and send the link for the item that something is not working correctly.

Hey @comics-scifi-collectibles hope you had a great weekend! This is a newer feature, currently it's not all of them just yet. However you should see the option come up in some of the Home and Garden, Clothing Shoes & Accessories, Mobile, Collectables, and Jewelry categories.
If you run across an item you'd like to add it on, and it's not an option please let us know so we can pass along that feedback!

I would like to see the Item Specific "personalize" in the category >>> Crafts > Handcrafted & Finished Pieces > Other Handcrafted Pieces.
Can you pass that on to the tech dept?

That was suppose to be to add the Item Specific "personalize" to the category >>> Crafts > Handcrafted & Finished Pieces > Other Handcrafted Pieces.
I would pass that on to the tech dept if I knew how to contact them.
