This is a huge disadvantage for sellers!
Sellers of ACEO (Artist Card Editions & Originals) which are baseball card sized "tiny art" must choose which sub-category to list their type of ACEO (ie. Drawings, Paintings, Mixed Media, etc.).
So here's the problem. If you list your ACEO as anything other than a painting, when someone goes to search for "ACEO" (and no other search term), their results will default to the "paintings" sub-category instead of the "all sub-categories." This then will omit drawings, mixed media, and everythig else from the results.
So, what I see sellers doing to get around this sometimes is just listing their "drawings" as "paintings" but... then you run into the problem of people who DO search sub-categories.
Why can't the dang ACEO (with no other terms) search just show ALL categories of ACEO? Why does it have to default to paintings? I lose money whenever I try to sell ACEO drawings (honestly) and I'm getting tired of it. May just abandon eBay as platform for this alltogether because there seems to be no recourse or solution.
