Did you mean:

A seller is no longer letting me bid or buy

I made a huge mistake when placing a bid on an item. I wanted to place a bid of 100.00 but before I looked at the amount I placed the bid for 10,000.00. I reached out to the seller first to ask for help as it was an obvious mistake. I reached out 3 times via messages but no reply as I watched the price grow and all I could think about was "how high will this go"? so I resorted to retracting the bid, which worked, HOWEVER then I was blocked form further bidding on that item. Come to find out I should not have retracted the bid with less than 1 hour left in the auction. Now not only can i no longer bid on other items in this sellers store, I can't even buy anything. I have tried multiple times to message the seller explaining the mistake and my panic retraction but it doesn't seem that my messages are going through. I cannot find a phone number to call and apologize or explain my side. What can I do to fix my relationship with this seller?  Could this be a temporary thing (30 days) or permanent? I can't seem to find a way to talk to a person from eBay either.

The seller has blocked you which he is allowed to do and yes it is most likely to be permanent.

You will need to move on to other sellers.

There is nothing for eBay to do.

You did right by retracting the typo (the ONLY bidder error where it is permissible to retract) but you were obligated to rebid the correct amount immediately after the retraction went through (and did wrong if you didn't at least try--sometimes additional bids in the meantime by different bidders will result in the new minimum bid amount after the retraction being  higher than the intended amount).

You did wrong by not proofreading the bid amount before you submitted it.  eBay used to always provide a confirmation screen to give you a second chance to correct such mistakes, but bad bidders regarded it as a nuisance and eBay set up more and more circumstances where the "Place bid" button submitted the typed amount immediately with no confirmation screen.   NEVER be in a hurry to place a bid.

A seller can block any buyer for any reason, and anytime you do a retraction or request a cancellation that is a very good reason for a seller to add you to the list.
