2nd time in 5 months Credit Card info was stolen and used

How does ebay store and use my CC info? Is the data being stolen and used/sold by an ebay employee, or

is the Seller the one who gets access to my CC? I thought ebay was the intermediary when using my CC to purchase items and then the Seller was credited for the sale...???

Sellers do not have access to your credit card number nor do they even know how you paid (credit card, bank account, PayPal, etc.)

Why do you think it has anything to do with eBay?

Both times I used it (2 different cards, 2 different numbers) was after purchases on ebay.
