cant be that old,lions are not indigenours to China,only tigers.
India has biblical type of lions which have gone extinct in Middle East.
To name a mountain range
after lions is rare.
The so called kirin,food dog are lions given to the Chinese emperors as gifts by foreign dignitaries.
