Here is another from a group of Asian items donated to our charity. It measures about 5 inches tall. Any help with discription / age would be helpful. I believe it is made of stone.

It is very hard and cold to the touch. Is there a way that I can test/Identify if it is jade?

jade is hard, compact and poor conductor of heat, hence cold.
jade is harder than a stainless steel knife,if you scratch it ,it would not scratch, make surei t is a real stainless steel, take a swiss knife .
some chinese stainless steel has carbon in it,not like the swiss one.
but then there are other stones which are harder than steel, like ruby ,diamond and saphire
