How do I set up Search to limit the number of things I have to look at?
1. Use ADVANCED SEARCH.
2. Put in your search criteria (your guess)
3. Put in a Max amount of $100
4. Set Location to Items Located in United States
5. Set Currency to U.S.Dollar
6. Set Show Only Buy It Now items
7. Set Results per page to 200
How do I find the treasure? Do I have to open every one of the search items?
You do if you want to be sure not to miss it. Ebay can make the listing look like anything they want. They only need to use a Gallery icon once in a while to make everybody look at each and every one. Same deal with the "does it have a Paypal shield" question. It might, and they have, so you have to look - you never know.
What will the search returns look like?
Just like any other Buy-it-Now listing. If you've narrowed the search down so you don't see GBP and AU listings, and you've knocked out general auctions, you're already in good shape. There will ALWAYS be either a green camera icon or a Gallery picture. Remember that eBay is Corporate America, so the title is not going to be for anything controversial. There may or may not be Paypal shield icons. Other eye candy like borders, bold, subtitles are unlikely to be used, although it's almost a guarantee that eBay will do it to fog up things.
How do I know if I've found the treasure?
You'll see a big graphic congratulating you for being such a smarty-pants. THERE WILL BE NO REAL ITEM INSIDE THE LISTING! Hit the Buy It Now button! This ia like yelling "BINGO!" Congratulations, everyone else playing the Hunt will hate you now.
Who is this Chu guy?
That would be the Driver's License photo to your screen right, under Community Highlights. The first 800,000 Chu jokes were diminishingly funny, but now... ehhh, not so much.
