Help with Antique Jar-Original or Not?

Looking for help on this jar or a site that I can research jars/bottles.

Amber jar with what appears to be a vaseline rim and  side seams stop before the rim.

Thank you in advance for any help

Help with Antique Jar-Original or Not?

@cloud949

It appears to be modeled along the lines of a Wheaton apothecary jar.  I found one on Worthpoint with clear glass; but if you Google "Wheaton apothecary jar," you'll find a wide variety, including some in amber.

But, if yours is not marked "Wheaton," it may be a knock-off from the 1960s or 1970s.

Very unusual looking, though!

To test to see if it's actually vaseline glass put it under a blacklight.  Real vaseline glass contains uranium dioxide, so it glows a bright fluorescent green under UV light. If it's not true vaseline glass it makes it more likely to be a reproduction.

Thank you for responding.  At this time, I'm going with

a reproduction-something about it seems newer.   It does not have any embossed

writing.  However, I could not find one like this one either.
