Can't use Gift Card Ebay

I used eBay for a long time now and its worked with the eBay gift card. But now its not letting me use my gift card at all be it says this when i put the number of me gift card “To use the code, please select one of these payments options: PayPal or PayPal Credit” eBay can you please explain to me why i can't use my gift card
