Handling. Post Office Kickback? Or Not Important. The .99 Cent Factor.

Recently, about a month ago, I had suddenly decided to Join another Platform.  I can't name this Platform.  As here at eBay we are not to mention other business entities.  I understand this.

At any rate, this Platform is very Nice.  And very, very, Attractive.  It's no eBay.  Let me tell you.

So I'm placing all of my Listings in.  Right now I have about 45 of 123 Listings in.  My business is known as Blacks.  I sell High End Money Clips and Keychains.  But I also sell Knives, Wallets, and Blank Bezels, Capsules and Ring Watches to name just a few Items that I have Accepted for Sale.  I do not sell what I do not Like.  I Like very few things.  In and out of Commerce.

At any rate.  So, as I was learning of the Curve of how this new Platform, to me, works I found on the Shipping Area, that there is a Handling Fee.  Which I've seen before, but I don't think here on eBay.  Looking at that though on this New Platform, I thought, "Boy, I have utilized that before on another website", but it never really was working as my sales were Nil and Nothing generally, until I began my Business with eBay.  I chose The Consortium to Begin, Blacks.

I'm not sure right now, if eBay has a Handling Fee for the shipping.  I will check that soon.  But since I'm here I decided to have a Handling Fee of .99 cents.  Meaning that my Labor when Shipping often takes One Hour to complete, thus .99 cents per package is Honest and very Necessary I have surmised.  And I put it in to this new Platform upon all my listings there.

So, thinking about this later yesterday I noticed that shipping is now over $5 from eBay's deal with USPS.  Whereby it used to be at the most $4.95, I mean in general when not too heavy and such (3 to 6 Ounces) which is most Packages.  I do believe that eBay and the Post Office, get their own Kickback when we ship with either/or.  So, .99 cents back Rolls that very unpleasant $1 that I lost with that Package Increase!

Now the question is: Will the Buyer not buy, when they see that there is a .99 cent Handling Fee.  My answer to that is that if 100,000 eBay Sellers did the .99 cents Handling Fee With Me, I believe the 'Off Tic' would not 'disturb' eBay's Bottom Line.  The Bottom Dollar, essentially.

Will the Buyer not Buy when they see that charge?  That is the Question.

Not, to be or not to be.

That, of course, is Not Much Of A Question.

Thank you.

On Ebay, if you're using calculated shipping, you can add a handling fee.

Will the buyer still but it, don't know.

Depends on if they can find it cheaper.

Have a great day.

@blackssilvershop

USPS raises its prices independently of eBay, as it has been doing since long before eBay existed.

What proof can you provide that USPS receives a "kickback" from eBay sales?
