I think that hamsters are the new crows. I've been watching high-selling ACEOs. I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to buy a new model. Anyone want a gently-used cat?

HA! I knew it. I posted this in the Suspenders thread and was laughed at (can you believe that?) Post #8215: "Hamsters are the new crows." I was right! Narni narni nah nah. Yes, I've been watching them for a while, and several have gone VERY high, to the same collectors who were buying crows. Dangit, though. I don't think I could paint a hamster to save my life. -- Kathy

I don't think I could paint a hamster to save my life. That suggests an interesting experiment.

No, the experiment involved sending anonymous death threats to be carried out unless a hamster painting was produced. But now that you mention Rex....

You can still send the death threats. They just won't be anonymous anymore. -- Kathy

I actually started noticing the hamster thing when I was following this artist's "Hamster Homemaker" series. This is the same artist who had done some of the highest selling crows. She's now selling prints, but the originals all sold for well over $50 each (out of my price range, anyway). They were all very clever. http://cgi.ebay.com/Hamster-Homemakers-Scrapbooking-ACEO-LE-Print-MOAR_W0QQitemZ260236566051QQihZ016... -- Kathy -- Edited by poozybear at 05/03/2008 8:04 AM PDT
