I like the idea of keeping your business card handy to pass out to anyone with whom you've gotten into a conversation. I also keep my mini-portfolio handy at all times (one of these days I'm going to make it into an album but for now it's prints of a lot of my work). A picture is worth a thousand words, and I've gotten a lot of commission work and reprint sales from doing that. /Karen

I just found this gal who seems to have piles of marketing ideas (not just for artists), but it's worth further investigation! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150067375472&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=005

Wow Thank You all so much. What Fabulous tips. My tip is this.... On my website I have my Auctions listed. So if I give out a business card or someone sees my card left at Coffee houses and Book stores they can go to my website and Bid! You can look at my website as an example. I did this by joining EBAY's affiliate program. I'm not so computer savy...so it took me all day to figure out but it was well worth it. Here's my website so you can see what I mean.. madamebwishful.citymax.com Also... One of my goals for marketing my business locally is to join my hometown art guild. I've joined in the past but didn't go often or get involved with shows. People that are active in this guild are well known in the community. Sooo Look for your local art guild for exposure that way too! Laura

Here's another idea. Put videos in your listings. I have never tried this because of the fear of html, but it's something to consider: http://reviews.ebay.com/Add-Video-to-your-listings_W0QQugidZ10000000002360887

Art Marketing Tips

I just found this gal who seems to have piles of marketing ideas... A lot of what she's selling was culled from visiting discussion boards and compiling it together as an ebook (not that that's a bad thing). ----- There are a lot of tools to promote your store available, yet so many folks just don't utilize everything that's at their fingertips. So, here's another helpful hint for store owners... Go to manage my store> store marketing> Listing Frame and turn ON your "Frames", show "logo", show "breadcrumb", show "add me to your favorites" and if you have a newsletter, then show "sign up for newseltter". Doing so will automatically add your store logo to the top and your store category navigation bar to the left. It will give folks a hot link to make you their favorite and hopefully encourage them to subscribe to a newsletter. This will all add multiple links to your auctions and give people a quick view of everything else you might have for sale (or want to sell) Giving shoppers as much exposure to your store is a win/win situation and it only takes, um...seven clicks to add a multitude of additional marketing tools. r-

hey, I just checked out the website that makes stamps from your photo. Pricing is high IMHO. double the cost of regular postage stamps.

This is primarily for Jillian Crider, but anyone can reply. I would like to see a posting of various examples of a Certificate of Authenticity for ACEOs. I would much appreciate sending them directly to my email address: j.kinney@mchsi.com Thanks.
If I can see it, I can draw it.
