ACEO Listing Question?

Hello everyone, I haven't posted lately, mainly I just haven't had the time! Anyway, is it ok for an artist to use ACEO in every title, whether it's an ACEO painting or not? I see artists on here that do that so just wondering...

ACEO Listing Question?

NO it is NOT ok. ACEO is a size - 2.5x3.5" only - if what you are offering is not ACEO related. Don't use it, you are 'shooting yourself in the foot', and really doing the whole ACEO art movement a disservice. If I see someone using it, look at the listing and it's not an ACEO, I never look at that person's work again, quite frankly. It's like ... once bitten, twice shy. It also is keyword spamming/mis-leading titles. I know that that can be argued, but being associated with ACEOs some 19 months now, I have seen some very sad people when their listings got pulled as someone had reported them on the basis of those ebay standards in the past. Please - only use ACEO if you are offering ACEOs/ACEO related. There was a time that people were emailed and nicely asked to remove ACEO from titles, explaining that ACEO is size only, but I'm not aware of anyone doing that currently. Thanks for raising this question. ~Jillian

ACEO Listing Question?

Why is post cards part of ACEO if the 2.5 X 3.5 is the only size? Please fix it. Or remove post card part of ACEO RULES! thank you

ACEO Listing Question?

There is no rule that includes 'post cards' in with ACEOs. Post cards can be many sizes. I've yet to see one 2.5x3.5". 4x6 is the most common size.

ACEO Listing Question?

When you come into the group ATC means one thing and ACEO means another, I believe that is the confusion. Until I started reading other people's comments I started seeing my first listing was all wrong. So I fixed my error. But as I now see if some people saw my mistake they no longer would look at my listings. Just my opinion.

It it's something to do with ebay, then they are not rules, and no part of ACEO.

ACEO Listing Question?

I just wanted to mention something here. I am so used to listing ACEOs, so yesterday and the day before, I unintentionally had ACEO in my title - of a non ACEO paintings. On account of using a previous listing as a form, I simply overlooked the mistake. As happens often for me, quite frankly. I'm like a robot sometimes when I list items and it's very possible to overlook things. Luckily I caught the mistakes before I had a bid. So I was able to fix the mistake. But after reading that some may not look at an auction of mine again, because of a simple human mistake, well I find that a little harsh. I've never posted ACEO in non ACEO listings. I know about the spam thing and I don't want to lie to lure someone to my listings. Luckily the auctions don't have a lot of hits yet, so hopefully I haven't offended too many people by the simple mistake. Just keep in mind that people do make mistakes. and yes I should've proof read better. But I think I just read right over the mistake, obviously! saffron

And Now I see that my title is correct, but my auctiva slide show still shows the mistake. So all of you can see the big mistake if you view an auction of mine! YIKES! Trust me it's correct on the title now! I didn't know that auctiva doesn't update the titles on revisions. Or maybe it just takes longer? Does anyone know about this? Sorry if this is a little off topic. saffron

ACEO Listing Question?

I found out with the slide show I use, that it doesn't update. I did something like that once before, (vendido) and had to stop my listing and then relist. But my problem was a big one. I DO know how using templates can really make you list wrongly. I've done it many times. I'm not worried about honest mistakes. I'm sure we all know that happens. Thanks for taking the time to explain saffron.
