Balloon & Dart Art

Hi guys, I wanted to share a project I just finished with the kids in my art classes. These are pictures from one of the classes. It's a canvas tarp stretched over a piece of plywood. The balloons are filled with acrylic paint, and they used darts to pop the balloons and paint the canvas. After I cut it into sections, they'll each get 2 pieces to further embellish with spatter and also with more acrylic paint mixed with a stringy medium that allows them to drizzle the paint on & it retains it's shape & string texture on the canvas. Anyway, took me over 2 hours to fill all the balloons, then I had to iron the canvas, nail all the balloons up, wow it was really messy, but TOO MUCH FUN! -- Laura View My Auctions Here

That is a wonderful idea. My daughter in Spearman, Texas has an art gallery and she teaches children classes. I can't wait to tell her about this. :-xChar

Thanks! The second canvas did not go as well as the first and will definitely need more embellishment! One of the balloons blew up in my face when I was hammering the nail in, and I had a lovely sky/sea blue arm, cheek and strands of hair. Then two of them burst sideways and didn't spray the top left at all...but they still had mucho funno. -- Laura View My Auctions Here
