Awww the puppy image broke -- probably a space in the filename or too long a filename, knowing Photobucket.
I did some sketching in my sketchbook instead of on ACEO blanks, and did an entire page of hand studies. I started it on Thursday night and continued it today while Sascha and I watched "Walking with Monsters." The bottom left sketch is of my left hand holding the sketchbook, not a copy of one of Giovanni Civardi's lessons. The rest are from "Complete Guide to Drawing" by the Italian classical realist.
Then because we were watching "Walking with Monsters, I halted the video at the start of the second program when the giant spider was creeping up over the nest of hatching baby lizards and finally sketched the giant spider. I remember a photo reference posted here of a spider with similar huge colorful palps (in the show they're bright red). So here's my take on Mesothelae, a native of Kansas back in the Devonian:
