Question thread: We’re updating to a more accurate way of counting listing page views

We've made some updates to how we display listing page views. We’re also adding more traffic data to listings to help you get clearer insight into how your listings are performing.  You can learn more about that here, feel free to ask any questions below!

This makes a lot of sense.  I have been struggling to keep my daily views up on the metric tab, even though I generally list 30 items a day.  I am okay with this update, as long as we are all on a level playing field.  So it isn't that my overall views are necessarily down, it is just that 'what counts as a view' has changed in order to be more accurate.

I am correct in assuming this?  Cheers, Josh

Hey @wilsonharborsales! You're right! We're just removing bot/non-human views so the count will be more accurate. Everyone will be on the same playing field. 😊

What would be REALLY beneficial is bringing back the Classic Pages feature where Active listings could actually be SORTED by the Views column.  That was EXTREMELY useful information.  One way it could be used is to identify low activity items so the Seller can make adjustments in an effort to "enhance the Buying experience" for their customers ...

There may be some confusion about this - Promoted Listings Advanced was built and released with the ability to filter out invalid traffic (link here).
