hope this helps. This hallmark is present on the inner back cover, inside cover, and along the edge of the case. It almost looks like a winged lion that is lying down…

that is a high grade euro watch, its open face and is rim set
the high quality case has Jurgensen lips. the case is hinged
the movement has wolfs teeth winding and a capped escape wheel
it also has a bean shaped hairspring stud holder
even the dustcover which has all the verbiage looks like gold
this is a high grade watch and I am 99 percent sure its solid gold
this looks like its from around 1890 to 1910 maybe.
I am sorry I cant help more with the mark but I am pretty sure its gold
an advanced collector will know who the GS or maker of the case is
this is a nice quality watch

Looking at photos seems to be some markings on the rim of the watch case holding the movement:
Photos of them if possible and they are hallmarks.

A photo of the escapement (wheel with screws) and surrounding would be good.
As others user said seems to be a nice watch and may be a gold case.

That marking, third photo, on the rim, is the same winged creature mark as originally posted.
