Hi everybody.
The title above was the title of a recent listing on Ebay. Somebody claiming to have a Lincoln struck on a Flying Eagle planchet. While it is EXTREMELY unlikely it IS possible. Mint employes have take old coins and used them as planchets for modern coins. (See the famous Washington quarter struck on a Barber quarter).
Well in the few seconds when I read that listing and clicked on it......it was nuked. Now it was probably nuked for good reason but you never know.
I was curious if anybody contacted the lister of this auction (I actually think it was a BIN listing but not sure)? Anybody know a way to find the Ebay id name??
Thanks

My guess is eBay required a PCGS, NGC, ANACS or ICG certification (the only 4 eBay recognizes), or it would be considered counterfeit or a replica. Both are not allowed.
