Yes, el heron grande...those were the days ey what?  Kemmo sabbe and all that!  We's had some inneresting chats about the proper way to set septick tanks in the ground and not even one old gold coins to be found with all that diggin.  Hope alls well with youse and I've seen on that other chat room thing that was started that politicks will kill a boird.  Especially when's you'se alone in your poolitical stance.  So, I'll just chat here every now and then and try to be happy although there are a couple of folks who I really enjoyed over thar but shirley I didn't like most of the one's who laid low and never said anythings unless someone mentioned politicks and then they'd come out all guns blazing.  Course, you were always liked on the old ebay chat bored and never had any such treatment.  (Har har har!)

Yes....I'm from the "old days".  I enjoyed the chats.  I don't remember the septic system chats, but if I was part of it I would say I had to replace a distribution box when I bought my home and I clean my tank regularly !   LOL !

31 de Agosto 2018:  How far back in time do you call 'the good old daze'?

Heron started on the Q&A board in October 1998.

Heron started on the Coin Chat Board in Jan 1999.

Heron visited various other chat boards from Jan 1999, including the international board, the stamp board [one of the most vituperative chat places ever, opinion], the antiques board, the auto chat board, and several others.   Only a few chat folks remain from those late 1990s years.   Heron sees them post from time to time.

31 de Agosto 2018:  Well, those 'good old daze' on the original coin chat board were truly a lot of fun.  And entertaining.  Especially the endless mind numbing posts about 'moe de gras'... har har har!   And of course the anti-har har har comentarios.

Yes, a lot of fun.   Heron made it through all those years without a scratch. Never even was suspendered!   Yes, humorous were some a those chatters.  Indeed!

I'm still around.  Been on eBay since 1998.  Times have changed just as eBay has changed. I estimate I sold 900 coins and bought a few on eBay, but none in the past 4-5 years.  I wasn't very active on the boards unless I felt I had something significant to contribute. I'm a bust half "specialist" and used to be well versed with Overton varieties, but my time spent with numismatics has diminished and I've rusted. I've been dealing with life, 3 kids in college and an aged parent. The clock ticks on and we move through stages in our lives. I want to get back into numismatics, but the time isn't now. - After 15 successful years working in a medical office I managed, I was told "my job has been eliminated". What ? Doesn't seniority and experience count?  Not these days, especially in the medical field. Corporations and companies "let go" their dedicated veterans to hire "youngsters" as part timers or per diem. No bennies and lower wages.  It saves them $$$ I suppose. - But the next time you've waited a VERY LONG TIME in a medical office and the person you're dealing with is only a few years older than your grandchildren, don't expect a high quality or experienced interaction.  - You try to find another position and post an extensive resume showing 30 years of superb/successful work - but it won't be viewed it that way...they can estimate your age. I know I'm not alone and this happens in many different fields, but it's dramatically present in the medical field. So you can try to "dumb down" your on-line resume and the the results remain the same. Yes....it's a new world out there.  The medical person you may interact with may be more concerned with "likes" on their social media pages than your Type 1 diabetes or osteoporosis.  Yes.....TIMES HAVE CHANGED.

31 de Agosto 2018:  Yes!  You got that correcto regarding the changes in medical treatment.   It is a new system indeed.   And not for the better!

As for buying & selling on eBay, Heron started buying in April 1998 just as a 'test' to see if this new thing called eBay would be worthwhile.   Heron started selling hobby items on eBay in early August 1998.   The situation was almost like having a license to mint money!   Wow!  Those first few years were fantastic.  Very high ROI...

Heron still buys items on eBay.   There are some things listed on eBay that are just plain difficult to 'find' locally.   Heron will list just a few items;

Gronningen und Ommelanden Duit 1770 Copper

Abbey Stavelot in Erzbistum Liege Liard ND but issued 1612 - 1650 Copper.

Nassau - Weilburg - Saarbrucken 1/2 Batz 1591 Silver.

Nederlanden Roermond Liard 1610 - Copper.

Gluckstaad Danemark - 1/16 Thaler -1666 - Silver.

Danzig - French Occupation issue - 1812 - Schilling - Copper.

Poland - Lettland -Riga Schilling 1606 Silver.

Germany Schauenburg und Holstein - 1/24 Thaler - 1602 -Billon.

Germany Zellerfeld Muenzenmeister Pfennig -1722 - Copper.

and last but not least:

Duchy of Prussia - Solidus - 1531 - Silver.

Heron's coin interests are Holy Roman Empire issues,  Europa Central & Oest coin issues,  British Empire; particularly the large Copper BMTT [British Merchant Trade Tokens] from 1780 to 1830, and various German Kleingelderstatzmarke from 1916 to 1918,  and also Mexico 1810 to 1960.

Coin collecting has been a super fun hobby for elHeron since mid-April 1946.

In mid-April 1946 Heron received his first batch of world coins.  About 45. Mostly

European but containing one Bison Nitchel...!   Heron sold that Bison nickel at a collector's expo.   A really great hobby for a lifetime and still 'on-going'...!
