Sports card sellers, does curling matter on Chrome / Foil cards?

Seems like certain Chrome / Foil / Shiny cards tend to curl instead of being completely flat.

Does this matter with sports cards? I know it doesn't matter with Magic cards, but does seem to matter with Pokemon cards.

Yes, it matters with ALL cards. Alway put in the description any problems with the card. NEVER assume.

@onefootflipper,

Yes it does make a difference if a chrome/foil/shiny card is curled. Often they cannot be trained to lay flat without causing cracking of the chrome/foil material layer.  That means the card is a lesser quality.  If you are shipping cards without a appropriate stiffener the sorting machine rollers can curl them. If they are exposed to heat or direct sunlight for long periods of time the "shiny" plastic coating can shrink, causing curling because it is a heat sensitive material.

Any defect on a card should be described and if you are not sure of its condition, use a lower grade for the card, better to get a "better than described" comment than a "not as described one".

  A few suggestions for you:

1)  Use Gallery plus with the Hover Over enlargement feature so small details can be brought out.

2)  "The card you see is the card you get" is not a description if there is a flaw of any kind, especially if you do not use the enlarge feature. People tend to be picky about collectible items, and for some reason the cheaper the price the pickier some get.

3) Try to use only solid color backgrounds in photos and not colors that match the borders of an item.

4)  Always keep in mind the unwritten golden rule for selling on ebay.

Describe all items like there are no photos, and photograph them as if there is no description.
