Just wondering if we're going to do picks this year. Another question, will TS make it through the whole season?

Super Bowl LII (52)--Sunday, Feb 4th, Minneapolis, MN
New England vs. Philadelphia I'm gonna be contrarian. The Beagles will have a great day. Pats will play flat. A big upset.

New England, of course!
Philadelphia looks really good though and the Pats are missing a lot of key players so
philly has a really good chance of winning it all.

I'm gonna go with the Eagles because I want to root against the Patriots
--even though I have no doubt the Pats are better coached, and usually
find a way to win the big ones. (How sweet would it be if Brady suffered some
minor injury--just bad enough to take him out of the game--and Brian Hoyer
had to finish? Whee hee hee!) Plus, I like those dog masks the Eagles' fans wear.
Pretty funny. Plus, an Eagles win would boost the exposure of a local from the
Bay Area who is an Eagles cheerleader...Snow Feng, a former Miss Chinatown
-San Francisco. All good reasons!

I fully expect the Patriots to win, which is why I'm taking the Philadelphia Eagles. I don't wish to endanger my record of near total post season incompetence.

took the patriots to score in the 1st quarter. won a whopping dollar.

Eagles 41, Patriots 33
I'm kinda stunned that after the late strip/sack of Brady that helped
seal the game, that a cartload of referees didn't careen onto the field to
declare the play an 'incomplete pass' allowing the Pats to retain control
of the ball!...and oh, the irony of the Patriots being on the wrong end of one
of those notorious was-it-a-catch-for-a-TD-or-an-incomplete-pass calls!!
Anyway....
Except for justpollls, we all had the Eagles. (I'll spare everyone a chart saying
1 or 0.) Therefore....
Final Standings for just-for-fun, meaningless all-important highly-prestigious
Post-season NFL Pick-em Contest
marknberk, tdreamer..........6
blackbird, justpollls.............5
nanapong...............................4
So, th-th-that's all, Folks. At least until next season.
Congratulations once again to nana for winning the main contest (again!),
and to tdreamer for tying for the win in the post-season with whatsisname.
I hope you'll all be playing again later this year...there are many interesting
developments in the NFL recently--QB Alex Smith going to the Redskins;
this new guy Mahomes starting for the Chiefs; and the return of Jon Gruden
as coach of the Raiders. I can't wait.

"See" everyone next season.
Here's a question: What if the Pats had completed the Hail Mary at the end and the time on the clock was all zeros? Would they have been allowed to try to go for 2 to tie up? Or is it strictly game over?

I'm about 99% sure that if your score a touchdown as time runs out, you still get to try for the extra point or two.
Unless it's overtime and the TD gives you the win.
