Everyone,
I did not know how much loosing my sister would mean to me because I had not ever thought of it hapening until it did! I always thought I would be the first because I was the oldest. It feels like a part of me is missing but I can not replace it? The numbness almost seems to protect me from dissolving, It has brought intense feelings of loneliness and emptiness with the hole left in my life. On the other hand we were not real close for a lot of our adult lives as we each had our own life that was totally seperate. Now I remember things as children that I had not thought about for years. A sibling has been much tougher than my Mother or Father.

Roy -- I, too, am left with a huge hole in my life. My brother-Jerry passed away a year ago. It was not until the funeral service that I found out how much responsiblity he took towards me. As a small child, he wanted to protect and care for his younger sister.
He is in Heaven with Jesus. I will see him again and thank him.

Carole,
I was the oldest I protected my sister. Because we had grown apart over the years I did not think about how much a part of my being was also a part with her? Expecially because I have remembered so many things that I had not thought about for so many years.

Roy - I am sorry that you are missing your sister. You will see her again and things will continue on in a more beautiful place. There is a time for everything, including a time to mourn. God tells us this in Ecclesiates. I try to remind myself of this, which is why this became my signature quite some time ago.
Regarding the rainbow......I am familiar with the Biblical mentions of the rainbow and God's promise. What I was referring to was that the gay and lesbian folk have chosen the rainbow as their signature. So, these days, if you put out a rainbow flag or whatever, it would mean that either you are gay or are showing support for their causes.
There was a beautiful double one at Melanie's the other day. The rainbow is always a beautiful thing to see.

Lynn,
That is a beautiful rainbow.Did you take it by your home?
I did not know gays have chosen a rainbow as their symbol!

Good morning everyone!
Roy - Yep. That is the current meaning of the rainbow. I think they picked it to accept all people.
T & J - I did not take that pic. I have already seen the most beautiful rainbow possible. Many years ago I was driving just south of here and it was farmland, so the sky was unobstructed. On the right side, all was sunny and bright and on the l left, it was jet black, with a huge-centered neon rainbow. It looked as though someone had painted it in glowing colors on black velvet. People were pulling over just to gaze at it. I have seen lots of them since, but I do not think I will ever see one like this again. Happy to hear you enjoyed your trip. We all need to get away from time-to-time.
Not much new here. Got the light-up pumpkins in the window and the Porch Kids on the front porch. Need to dust before putting the few Halloween decorations I have for inside.
The computer tells me it is 38 out there and when I got up the ground was white with frost. Brrrrrr. I am glad I have moved my PT sessions from 12:15 to 3:15.
Have a most beautiful day!

Roy -- Tears and memories can be cleansing. I can picture you as big brother and protector. This is our temporary home -- Heaven is our permanent, forever home!
Lynn -- Beautiful rainbow. I enjoyed your description of the black sky and brilliant rainbow. I saw a double rainbow. A picture was taken -- but not the same as the actual sky view.
John -- I'm so happy for your vacation. A different locality does a person good -- you can see more clearly. Prayers for you and Tammy.

Prayer Request:
My daughter-Shellie who has a consignment store. Please pray that she can get new consignments in the store. She had wonderful sales which resulted in low inventory.

Good morning, Everyone.
Just for the heck of it, I did some research on the colors of the gay/lesgian rainbow flag. This is what I found:
red - life
orange - healing
yellow - the sun
green - nature
blue - harmony
purple - the soul

Diane - Thank you. I had not even thought about the colors individually. This seems to be a fairly accurate description of the how's and why's of how the whole rainbow thing got started for this purpose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT_movement) I will still see it myself as a gift from God.
Computer says it is 34 here now. Brrrrrr! I have changed my PT appointments to 3:15pm so I do not have to go out as early.
Have a most beautiful and blessed day.

Good afternoon, Everyone from chilly, windy New Jersey. Youngest son took off from work today to start to work re-doing the roof. His friends are also helping him this weekend. Hubby and I are going to a buffet breakfast/yardsale at a local Methodist church tomorrow morning (yummy food!). Rainbows are seen by everyone and my oldest son has some gay friends at his church who believe in the Biblical meaning of a rainbow.
Need prayers as the infection in my left eye seems to be back (actually, I don't think it ever went away). Can't go back to the clinic until my application for the renewal of my Charity Care has been cleared.

Good morning everyone!
I love this song. We really have nothing to worry about. We know what awaits us in the end.
Please say a little prayer for the friends and family of Mattie. I heard that she killed herself last week. She was 45. She was not really a friend but I have known her for over 26 years.
I know I have said that I think we have a high suicide rate in our area and while Melanie and I were on the phone the other day, she looked it up and our county is by far #1 in my state and followed closely by surrounding counties. So sad........
Keeping prayer requests.
Have a most beautiful day.
