Can anyone suggest a cross for this king?

I bought a set on ebay last week, both kings without finials. They're onion bulb-ish and I've not seen another so don't know what the cross should look like. I'm going to have it restored but I need to be able to suggest a pattern.

All inputs gratefully received!

I'm thinking it won't be a cross.  Possibly a cone on a ball, or a teardrop?  The king reminds me of an inexpensive WH Horn set that I have with conical finial (but the queen in my set is much simpler).

On the other hand, check out this set, which seems to have a cross, unfortunately turned sideways:

Ah, that's looking pretty close! The knight and other pieces are spot on, but the king looks more bulbous, although could just be the angle it's photographed at.

Shame the cross isn't showing. I'll mail him for cheeky photo 🙂

Thanks!

I have two sets which have a very similar looking knight, and I am of the opinion that a standard ball and cross is the best solution.

Both of my sets have this, but the turning shape of the chessmen are different.

This might help, see photos 62 & 64.

What makes both sets interesting is that there is a " possibility " that they might be from the same maker .
