When I try to add an item to my watch list, I get a grayed out message that says my watch list is full. I double checked and my watch list is not full, and I have gone in and taken older items out and I still have the same issue. Tried logging out and even rebooting. Any ideas how to fix this issue? I am using Google Chrome and a laptop computer - no issues with the app on my mobile phone

I've had this problem intermittently for weeks now.
Seems that it has something to do with items from countries outside the United States, or at least in my own experience, items from Japan, China, South Korea, and occasionally the UK.
A while back, I had a few days where the "Watch" button wouldn't appear on a bunch of auctions.
After that, the buttons reappeared, but wouldn't o anything.
Sometimes I would click on the button, nothing would happen, but the item would later appear in my watch list anyhow.
Honestly, I never thought I'd see the day that eBay's poor back-end handling would actually prevent me from spending money here.
EBay is weird

I’m having the same problem. Started about an hour or two ago. I can’t add anything to my watch list and get a capacity error even though my watchlist isn’t full.

think it's an application issue - the exact same thing is happening to me - I found a way out : from the application, go to help and contact front page, scroll to bottom, click other options, choose eBay community - next page invites you to post message, instead click on "eBay community" - go to bottom of this page find the eBay "Knowledgebase" posting from 1/18/2019 (on top of list) - click that, scroll about halfway down page and click on "watchlist" hyperlink - it will forward you to an "internet style" page WITHIN the application, and your watched items are present AND you have the ability to successfully add 300 items to watch list - it let me add an item that it wasn't allowing before, so I know it works - let me know if this worked -
Thanks,
Paul

It looks like the capacity of the Watch list has been reduced to 200; if you are watching more than that, you won't be able to watch more until you delete some items or move them to another list.

I had 213 items watching, I tried the way I'm about to describe, and my tester item I watched made it 214 items, so it has not been downsized to 200 - I think it's an application issue - the exact same thing is happening to me - I found a way out : from the application, go to help and contact front page, scroll to bottom, click other options, choose eBay community - next page invites you to post message, instead click on "eBay community" - go to bottom of this page find the eBay "Knowledgebase" posting from 1/18/2019 (on top of list) - click that, scroll about halfway down page and click on "watchlist" hyperlink - it will forward you to an "internet style" page WITHIN the application, and your watched items are present AND you have the ability to successfully add 300 items to watch list - it let me add an item that it wasn't allowing before, so I know it works - let me know if this worked -

You have found a clever way to use browser-like capabilities from within the app! I was able to add another item to my watch list using that technique.
Not sure why that works -- from my desktop I am currently getting a "watch list is full" message when I try to add items the usual way.
It certainly warrants further investigation, though. It may be useful for many things.

I'm very glad it worked for you !! I hope they investigate this because it's going to be a huge problem for all us buyers out there !! I discovered this technique by accident, but I want to spread the word that this is a fool-proof guaranteed way to at least temporarily watch items - it has nothing to do with capacity like a few other members were suggesting - if anything it would increase not decrease !!
