Living in Utopia
The little girl in number 13
The average age of the people who lived in Utopia must have been 75 or more.
There were only 5 young people there, me and my wife on floor 3.
Zoe was a tall skinny girl, with toes made for climbing trees, across the hall.
Mark her boyfriend lived in the unit next to mine, he was short and fat.
Then there was the little girl in number 13, on floor 2
She worked the 3-11 shift, so I didn't see her much.

One saturday, she knocked on my door and said her and Mark and Zoe were going out.
There was a well known local band playing, and they were going for pitchers of beer.
There was no way I was going to miss that chance, even with my wife in tow.
It was hard for us to talk, the band was loud, and she was across the booth.
When my wife went to the bathroom, the little girl slid over next to me.
My wife did not seem to mind that we had our heads together all night.

The little girl did get me on the dance floor, but I dance like Pee Wee Herman.
As we were leaving the dance floor, the band went into a slow song.
She swung around and put her arms around me, we were cheek to cheek.
As the song was coming to an end she looked over my shoulder.
No one was watching at our booth, so she kissed me.
After that we all went dancing every Friday night.
