Member 17 years.  My first time buying something and the seller posts that it's shipped but there is no tracking number and no response to my inquiry....Help???

has the seller ever been required to provide a tracking number?

or respond to messages?

How long has it been?  If it's after the last estimated delivery day, you can file an Item Not Received claim with eBay if you wish, but I don't like to jump the gun on that.

A fair number of the items I buy on eBay are delivered by Amazon, so the seller doesn't provide a tracking number.  Plenty of sellers are slow to respond, so that doesn't mean much in itself.
