shipping aerosol deodorant to Hawaii

Hi, I am new to selling this item and didn't think about it needing to potentially go by air, but I have sold a lot of axe body sprays/deodorants to a buyer in Hawaii. I am finding that it shouldn't go by air (conversation with USPS worker and internet search). It can go by ground select but may take up to 2 weeks (from conversation with postal worker) due to part of the journey being by boat. I told my buyer this, offered a refund if they aren't willing to wait that long (understandably) and they say they have received the same item via priority no problem. My understanding is that the pressure in the can may lead to a hazard if it is sent by air. Has anyone else encountered this? I did look at some active listings and see that many sellers do offer a priority shipping. Not sure about all of this. Thanks so much for any info!

Perfume containing alcohol may not be shipped internationally or mailed domestically using air transportation. Perfume containing alcohol, however, may be shipped within the United States by ground transportation. 
So those items like perfumes, body sprays and other liquids if containing alcohol need to be shipped to Hawaii using ground shipping. Yes it will take time for delivery, but best to be safe than sorry.

Hi, thanks for your reply! In reading on the USPS website I am finding that information as well.  Additionally, I was looking to see if the package needed to be marked in any special way for the ground transport. Does anyone have experience with how to mark these types of packages; ie; hazard stickers, flammable, combustible or any other markings? Thanks so much!

99% of the time when I order such items, they are shipped by air and get here in 3-4 days.

The 1% of the time the seller does follow the rules and ship it gound (boat) it can take 3 weeks to a month to get here.

You can ship with USPS Ground Advantage, but since GA can go by air you have to write on the package 'Surface Transportation Only' to ensure it's shipped exclusively by truck and boat. You also need hazmat stickers and certain types of packing (anything liquid triple bagged, etc).
