Whatever script or software eBay is using to determine late shipment rates is not working properly. Their "if" and "then" needs to be rewritten properly. The last three I have received, I have had to have ebay remove manually because they were erroneous - which makes me wonder if the ones I received last year were also wrong. I lost my TRS status earlier in the year due to this, assuming that the software was written and working properly and that I was the one who just doesn't understand my handling time windows. Stupid on my part for assuming. I'm off for Christmas, so I'm going to go through every single one of these and determine if it was truly my fault or if it was eBay's software.
Sellers, do yourselves a favor and examine your late shipments carefully. If you receive a defect and believe you were within your handling time, call and have it removed. Be armed with the payment time and date, the date and time tracking was added, and a carrier scan.
Best wishes.

I am about to lose my TRP status because of late shipments inaccuracies;
The reason late shipment rate shown is not accurate is as follows; 1. Sometimes your local Post office does not scan packages, it gets scanned at delivering post office (lazy workers). ebay looks at the difference between label generation date (you) and the first Postal scan. If there is a few days difference day assume you dropped the package days after you printed the label. 2. The other problem is, if you have 4 items in one shipment (one tracking #), ebay counts this as 4 late shipment. This makes the number inaccurate. However if your shipment of multi quantity item is on time you only get credit for one shipment on time 3. I have started taking my packages to the central post office for better results. however best solution is to wait in line at the post office and ask for receipt of the packages. They will then scan in front of you. I have a feeling ebay has an algoritm (script) to determine this, unfortunately it is inaccurate.

post office procedure says that postal employees are required to scan packages when the arrive at the post office. either over the counter or at a pick up at your place. you don't have to drop them off to get them scanned. if your post office is not scanning the packages, contact griff@ebay.com with your post office zip code. Griff will forward that information to the ebay employee whose whole job is to coordinate with the post office. He will contact the post office and report them as not scanning the packages and they will go in and "retrain" all the postal employees to get them to do their job correctly.

Thanks for the information , I will try that. Hope it works. Usually this post office will scan 7 out of 10 packages. Even the main office misses 1 out of 10.
what hurts my rating is multi quantity sales that are late, and also the ones going to east coast (from west coast)
Since I called ebay last week and reported inaccurate alghoritm, my late shipment and on time shipment numbers have been frozen (not updating)

My advice is call (during the week, regular working hours) and ask a rep to look at them to see if any qualify for removal.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. Hoping for the best for both of you.

Yesterday I waited in line and had all my 8 packages scanned by the clerk, and got a receipt.
Today I checked on eBay to see if tracking # shows received by the Postal Service. They all had except one. Then I went to the post office and had them check, it shows as received.
Somehow it was not transmitted to ebay. Now I am afraid ebay will punish my Seller rating based on this bogus late shipment.
Frustrating because I talked to Customer service the other day with no symphaty. I begged the person to report this to his supervisor, I doubt that he did.

This is driving me up the wall currently, my ebay late shipping data makes no sense. It seems to contradict what it shows from one report to the other. I havent been able to nail down everything well enough to call on it but Im making progress. At least its not just me dealing with it...
