I ordered a hp laptop and recieved it, but it does not work so i am returning for refund but i have 2 problems. 1 i do not have original hp box laptop came in, is this box being thrown away going to cause me to lose 900 dollars? second problem, if the return is accepted with new packaging, im worried about how the money is refunded. i bought the laptop with a prepaid debit card from hr block which had my tax return on it, after i speall the money on the card the card was lost, which didnt bother me at first because there was nothing on it, but now im worried the refund will have to be made to that card...what can i do? can the refund be made to a different card or maybe sent to me on a check? if i go to hr block website and report card lost and request replacement the new card will have a new number exp date and security code so will the refund be able to be added to the new card and accessed by me with the new card? please help me this laptop was supposed to be the best thing thats happened to me in a loooong time and its turning into a month long nightmare that may end in 900 dollars down the drain, im stressing so much about it constantly, its not good. thank you

Under normal circumstances, items must be returned in the condition as they were received. Since the box was thrown out, that may be an issue with your seller. Insofar as the refund, the refund should be to the "card" that was used to make the purchase - that is how most business work. You pay cash, you get cash back; pay by check, you will receive a check back in accordance with the store's policy; cc/debit card, the same applies.
You need to contact the issuer of the H&R Block debit card and see what they say and contact your seller in re: no original box, as I said, it could be a problem. When I say original box, I am not referring to the shipping but the box that the laptop came with

EBay requires items be returned (when available by the seller) in the same condition as received (including original packaging). If you happen to get refunded, it will be refunded back to the same form as the original payment type (your debit card). I'm afraid you’re out of luck. Can you open a SNAD return? Sure. Will you win a SNAD return? Most likely (but it's still not the right thing to do). You can try the HP warranty (assuming it's new). Typically HP goes by serial numbers for warranty issues, not purchase documentation like most vendors.
