Hey, just a question to see if anyone else is having this problem.. I ordered 2 items last Monday the 24th from two different sellers in two different states. Labels printed the next day (25th).
Tracking on both (through USPS site) show "PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM". Both sellers claim USPS has the items (one is an LP - the other bubble wrap). The LP seller confirms twice the item said
"Yes, it was shipped - sorry about how bad the USPS is - it was shipped and will arrive"
Have not heard back on my follow up with the bubble wrap seller, but they are probably closed for the weekend.
Are there some bad slowdowns in some regions where after almost a week that the regional distribution centers are not scanning things in (let alone local post offices)? I guess I'm kind of spoiled here in Mid Ohio where my little Mayberry post office scans things in as soon as I drop them off LOL.
Thanks in advance, looking for input.

I have a missing package that says that too. The place I take my packages is very reputable, so I'm just watching it for a couple days to see if anything shows up. But right now, it looks dead.

Mine finally shook loose and is on it's way.

I have my items scanned as "accepted" so I do have the initial scan but when it seems stuck for days (especially long after it should have been delivered), I file a missing package report. That usually shakes it loose from wherever it's stuck.

If life leads you down a path, And that path requires you to be dependent on the USPS for 100% accuracy, That path will take you nowhere but disappointment and heartache.
I didn't answer your question. ".......Is anybody else having this problem?" Most certainly.

LOL... thanks for the replies.. the LP suddenly is at the Cleveland USPS DC today... so coming from Illinois, just completely jumped from the USPS waiting for the seller to give it to them to being here in Ohio. No scans in between...

It's not uncommon for packages to not get scanned all the way. They often show up all of a sudden.

I agree with @simba6 . I see this frequently too. I have a carrier pick up my packages and I use the USPS Scan Form, so they get scanned as "picked up" when she takes them, and normally they do show acceptance scans at my local post office later that day. However, from that point on, sometimes I see gaps as much as a week or 10 days before the next scan, (I use media mail), and then the package shows up out for delivery in the final destination city. It really isn't uncommon, just results in unease for both buyer and the seller too.

Many times I have had sellers print shipping and tracking nearly immediately. Acceptance scans sometimes occur days later at geo locations within a few minutes travel from the sellers' location. In those instances I do not blame the post office as it is not their fault every time.

Have had packages Priority Mail that have only had scans that were shown as Accepted & only scanned Delivered. USPS can work in mysterious ways at times. I call it the "Human and/or Machine factor but never call it a Glitch- this is a Human error only that no one will live up to..

Thanks for all the input! It must depend on the regions/states... Ohio is pretty good (and my local post office especially) for scanning all along the way. I'm a bit spoiled I guess

One more thing - in various parts of the country Midwest, Plains States, Northeast region - Mother Natura play a significant factor and in late summer there are issues in the Gulf Coast, South East t w/ Himi and Hurricanes, plus Tornado Alley plus Covid effect - people out sick - it even takes more time now to get a Whopper or Big Mac too and you hope & pray it is right Oh yeah can't forget the Western Region with all kinds of issues.

I can print my label as soon as the buyer payment is confirmed. I sometimes do that based upon expectations of power outages/internet outages due to local conditions.
My labels are printed for the day that they will be shipped. In accordance with my "handling time", and "working days" the item may actually not be shipped for 3-4 days.

Here in Podunk my carriers/offices are very good about acceptance scanning. The "regional facility" has been known to miss a few. I've tried to figure out if it is my packaging size/shape, but seems to be no rhyme nor reason for the misses. I did have some "triangle" packages that seemed to miss the scan, but others of same, got the scan.

As a seller I sometimes see this (usually 1st class package with tracking). My post office explained that packages that miss the originating PO scan may not show a scan until they arrive at the destination city. I've had a few packages not show a scan and then 5 (sometimes more days) days later show a scan at the destination with delivery soon after.
