problem printing shipping label

Hi everyone,

buyer in california purchased a widget weighing a little over 3 pounds. I decided to go with usps ground advantage. Price ebay was quoting was almost 60 dollars, so I went the route of entering exact info through the usps quote service and got 20 dollars. Sent buyer the invoice and paid in full. Now I am trying to print the label and its quoting me 105 dollars?? I tried checking box dimesions, everything is accurate, including weight. What is going on and how do I fix this? Thanks so much

What are the exact dims you are entering?

60 or 105 sound ridiculous

What is the ship to and from zip codes?

For packages over 1 cubic foot (i.e., 1728 cubic inches), USPS charges postage according to a "dimensional weight" based on package volume, rather than on the scale weight.  One inch can make a huge difference in the cost. There is also a separate surcharge for package length over 22 inches. eBay offers sellers some excellent discounts on postage, so it's very unlikely that the eBay rate is higher than what's shown on usps.com; more likely something is different in the calculations that are being compared, such as the package dimensions.

We can probably help if you provide specific dimensions of the package in question and both ZIP Codes. Ot you can double-check for yourself, using eBay's shipping calculator, which has an option to see both retail and eBay rates.
