if you read the FedEx fine print they can add fuel surcharges and other extras. Some people complain about paying hundreds more to ship a package.

For that reason,  the only to ship with FedEx is to fill out the address label and hand it and the package to the clerk and ask her what is this going to cost? They can't come back on you for additional charges if you mail it that way.

I hate to say this but I think you are stuck.  IF you used an eBay label then you shipped using eBay's Fed Ex account.  We see many sellers who get duped and get extra charges added on their monthly bill.  You can call Fed Ex and the will point to eBay.  eBay points to FedEx.  No one in eBay apparently can help, certainly NOT CS reps.

What usually happen is that labels get bought using approximate dimensions and when FedEx systems measures the package and it doesn't match (exceeds a dimension) then they charge extra fees.  Same with weight.

If you wish to continue to use FedEx shipping, the advice is get to your own FE account.  Then it is between you and Fed Ex to argue the charges.

Last thought is that you could "try" to contact eBay CS through FE or Twitter.  That might give them enough time to find someone who could help you?

But for a $16 game, it might not be worth it to spend a lot of energy on this?  You could always chalk it up to "tuition paid".   😃

So sorry this happened to you, rest assured you are not alone!  Many others have fallen into the eBay-FedEx tar pit!  Happy holidays!

I have the same issue. The $16 shipping turned to 52.  eBay charged my bank account as opposed to PayPal so I could not use a PayPal complaint. I had to rely on eBay and every other month I called them  up and ask for assistance and  they Give me the runaround saying they’re contacting FedEx. They’re not going to do anything about it and FedEx is not going to do anything about it so I lost

Ebay offers zero support to the sellers. Don't ever use eBay for shipping. im my experience, all I had was head-aches and some losses.
