I am an international buyer and I wanted to buy a laptop. However, because of the import charge, it's not practical anymore.
Please, refer to these images.
When I goto a page, it usually looks like this...
In below image, you can see the shipping additional details.
Please note that actual import charges are not included in here.
Therefore, if you're bidding an auction, this is all you can see until you won the auction.
When I go to pay section, this is what I see as total charges...
I have to pay more than US $150 just to receive a $299 item.
Why is this...?
I do not want to pay US $150 just for shipping. How can we avoid this..?
In some countries, "import charge" are not even accepted. (refer this link)
- Thanks.

you’ll have to buy from a seller that doesn’t use the global shipping program. The GSP doesn’t offer any economy shipping methods and they barge import fees upfront in addition to other fees. If you don’t like it, you’ll have to avoid sellers who use the program.

The import charges for GSP shipments includes, if I'm not mistake, the fee charged by P-B in addition to any taxes or customs fees. As Jen has said, you will need to seek out sellers that are willing to sell internationally that haven't enrolled in the GSP scheme.
