eBay and shipping, a dark alliance ??

The way ebay (and paypal) handle shipping is generally good, works well and discounts are great. they've come a long way over the years and its remarkable really how everything can integrate between ebay, Paypal and shipping. BUT! a few things strike me as very odd, and I can't figure out why.

1) If you have a store, or simply list a lot of items, there is NO WAY to sort your active listings by any kind of shipping parameter. So if I wanted to see where I've offered free shipping, or where I've used UPS, I CANNOT DO IT. Why? If you have 1500, 2000 listings you can see why this is a problem.

On the other hand, you can search active listings by dozens of other parameters, so certainly shipping could easily be one of them. But its not.

2) You cannot run a report on either ebay or paypal that shows how much you paid IN SHIPPING past a 90 day period. Why?

Yes, for tax purposes you're supposed to track this yourself, but ebay is nothing if not a giant DATABASE and should (by now, the year 2017) be sortable by just about any kind of entry. And it largely is, except, you guessed it: shipping.

3) As a buyer, all you have to do is click one button and you can sort all buying results by Free Shipping or not. You can also sort by total price INCLUDING SHIPPING or not ... and yet as a seller, no.

So as a discussion, does anybody have an idea why this is true, or please correct me if I'm wrong about what I state. Thanks ...

A pet peeve of mine as well and it has been like that forever.   I learned long ago the best way to get that figure is to run report in Paypal under REPORTS > Activity Download as completed payments (not sure if I use TAB or CSV as format but I believe it is CSV).    Download that report into Excel and sort the data.  Then you can use summation to find that info.

That's an excellent work-around. Thank you. So do you have any thoughts on why Ebay is so weird about shipping reports and sorting?
